Yesterday was a unique day since starting to coach Yesterday was a unique day since starting to coach with @betterup in 2019. We, coaches, and more specifically South Cone latin coaches, met in person ! The #gatherBsAs was a lovely moment spent in our usually virtual community. Working digitally can sometimes feel a bit lonely. Especially when coming from pre pandemic Corporate life (open spaces and team based jobs -the other extreme). Thank you all for this opportunity 🫶🏼

See how mindfulness can possibly give you a moment of PEACE among the daily chaos.⁠

You might want to repeat this when kicking off a busy day (instead of going over your "to-do" list, and breaking that habit!).⁠

👉🏽 Take a moment to think all you have done today. Closing eyes helps.⁠

👉🏽 Go over all that you "have" to do.⁠
⁠
👉🏽 NOTICE THE ENVIRONMENT (sounds, smell, etc.).⁠

👉🏽 Any sensations in the body? (itchiness, stiffness, tension, etc.).⁠

👉🏽 How are you FEELING? (impatient, rushed, overwhelmed, calm, etc.).⁠

👉🏽 Notice just the moment you are in.⁠

👉🏽 Can you put aside for a moment what has happened already and what shall follow, allowing yourself to experience "just this"?⁠

👉🏽 Take 10 SECONDS just to sit/stand where you are and so NOTHING else, right now.⁠

👉🏽 Notice experiences (sensations, thoughts, feelings), as they come and go, like the clouds in the sky ☁️. No need to follow them. ⁠

I love babies. So fresh and pure in face of life a I love babies. So fresh and pure in face of life and the world. So true. Never thought I would publish myself saying this, or carrying my 3rd child, for that matter 🤰🏻. Maybe the latter, or the fact that I travelled to meet my friend's newborn for Thanksgiving, re-ignited reflections and feelings about LOVE and little humans. ⁠

Work with self, including finding out and processing my #HighSensitivity trait have taken me to this point in life. Not sure I would have dared try conscious "aunthood" and then motherhood without the investment done on working with my fears, limitations and connecting with my true desires 💕⁠

I am thankful for SO many things. I shall mention I am thankful for SO many things. I shall mention one quality I'm specially thankful for: STRENGTH 💪🏽 ... To keep walking and rising after every setback or fall. These two ☝🏽☝🏽 are a couple of the most earthly daily reminders of this attribute. Thinking back to the Roles and Wheel of Life exercise where we identified different roles in life >>> you probably noticed that we can’t be all things for everyone, all of the time 🤔⁠

For example, if we want to go pick up kids from school, we cannot be working at that same time (although I see many trying to multitask with headphones while dealing with kids that demand their fully presence 🤪).⁠

Inspired in Dufy's book "Drop the Ball": Our current to-do lists may be unrealistic; there is simply not enough time to do it all. Here’s an activity to prioritise our to-dos:⁠
⁠
1) Write down your to-do list for this week, including everything that is swirling around in your head. Include items you wish would just go away.⁠
⁠
2) Cross out three things you want permission to drop the ball on.⁠
⁠
3) Returning to your to-do list, put a CIRCLE ⭕ around the things you do well, with little effort that you enjoy doing.⁠
⁠
4) Put a checkmark ✅ next to all the things only you can do, that require your skills, network, or experience. These are the things you know you can’t delegate to anyone else.⁠
⁠
5) In contrast, underline ✏️ the things that need to be done, but could probably be done just as well by someone else.⁠
⁠
6) Put a star ⭐ next to anything that contributes towards a major work or home goal for you.⁠
⁠
7) Any to-do that doesn’t have a circle, checkmark, or star should be delegated or dropped from your list.⁠
⁠
How does it feel now to look at more items that you want to delegate and drop from your to-do list? Does it feel empowering to “drop the ball”? Or scary?⁠

There are corporate habitats (or functions within, or teams within!) that will not be as hard on you, believe me 💜⁠

“I am a parent,” “I am a coach.” We each h “I am a parent,” “I am a coach.” We each have many roles in life. 

What exactly is a role?  It’s the position you take in the various communities -families, schools, etc- of your life, hence, how you function, and how you play it out.

How much we decide to take in each community we belong to is what starts to define us both to ourselves and to the other members.

Because we exist we can’t help but impact others. Inevitable. No human being is an island, even if some HSPs are judged as hermits 🙄

So, when we want to experience true FULFILMENT in life, we will need to balance the many roles we play in it! 

Here is a series of steps to find balance and fulfilment in those roles you truly want to nurture 💕

STEP 1: Write down all the roles you currently have.

STEP 2: List roles you WANT to develop (Even if it means being a sister to an estranged sibling or being a writer)

STEP 3: Free up your list of roles by crossing roles off ones you no longer want to continue. Maybe you go to the gym but you hate it & are miserable doing it; it’s time to cross it off the list.

STEP 4: Balance Your List of Roles. Are they tending to be weighted in one particular area or community of your life? For example, work/non work.

STEP 5: (be realistic) Reread list & ask yourself if each is a role you are willing to put time, thought, and effort into nurturing. If not, what can you do to replace or deprioritize that role? >>> Beware of not overlooking roles that are KEY to your happiness as a human being. Did you add roles that show yourself you care for yourself?

STEP 6: Assign goals to each role. Concrete next steps, that take time and helps you feel you are fulfilling that role in life. >>> Noting hours in a worksheet helps! Especially when we don't know where time "went".

STEP 7: Monthly review how those roles are manifesting. If anything is out of balance, go through the steps again, adjust.
